TRISTRAM TECH TIP / Outboard Flushing

Keep your outboard in top shape by flushing with fresh water for 15 minutes after each saltwater use. Both Yamaha and Mercury recommend using a factory backflush fitting (with your engine switched off) to ensure the best possible rinse. If you’ve noticed a lack of water pressure from your tell-tale or require an OEM hose adapter, contact the Tristram Service Centre today.

TRISTRAM TECH TIP / Post-Winter Checks

Good fuel condition is vital for the smooth running of your engine. With summer right around the corner it is a good idea to top up your tank with fresh high-octane fuel to boost the overall level in your tank. We also recommend inspecting your fuel filter for signs of debris or water. Water in your fuel system can cause serious engine damage if it’s not dealt with. If you notice water in your fuel filter bowl, or if you have concerns about your engine after a long period of winter storage, contact the Tristram Service Centre today.
