Waking up on the morning of your handover ranks as high (if not higher) than Christmas for most families. The beginning of new adventures is on the horizon. So, what should you expect on handover day?

Where will our new Tristram be handed over?

Most handovers will take place in Tristram Marine’s Showroom. This gives you the opportunity to ask specific questions to our diverse team of experts. Our showroom is a quiet environment and the perfect stress-free zone for absorbing all the relevant information about your new boat.

If you have not ordered a trailer (for example, you are storing your new Tristram in a drystack storage facility) your handover will take place at your chosen drystack.

If you’re not able to make it into Tristram Marine for a handover, our team offer a virtual handover that can be received via Facetime, Microsoft Teams or Zoom. We like to do these once your new boat has been trucked or shipped to you, so you can be standing in your new boat for the handover session.

Who should attend handover?

We recommend keeping numbers low. Bring along your wife, husband, partner or a child or parent who is able to retain information and help out on launch day. We don’t recommend bring along friends. Your undivided attention is required and is also essential to your enduring safety and enjoyment onboard your new boat.

How should I prepare?

We recommend having a read of your Tristram Owner’s Manual. Please click here to download your Owner’s Manual. Familiarising yourself with this document prior to handover might prompt important questions. Please bring these questions along to your handover. Please also ensure your new boat is fully paid for prior to handover and also ensure your insurance is in place. Tristram Marine can arrange insurance for you. What will be covered?

Our team will walk through your boat’s usage from bow to stern. We will cover general usage, electronics, engine usage including service requirements, suitable maintenance regimes and recommended products. A check of your trailer lights will be performed after connecting your new trailer to your vehicle.
