NZ Marine’s inaugural Dale Carnegie Scholarship was awarded to Michael Langley at its annual Composites Industry Training Organisation Graduation evening last night.
This Scholarship awards Michael with access to Dale Carnegie’s world-class personal & professional development training courses. For over a century, Dale Carnegie has been improving individual and business performance around the world.
Michael has worked for Tristram Marine since 2003. Currently Production Manager, Michael has progressed through NZ Marine’s apprenticeship and training programmes having completed several qualifications and is now a trainer and mentor for his team.
As a team leader, Michael is kept very busy, but has always made time to support and guide his team be they apprentices or not. This includes supporting apprentices after hours for those that need a bit of extra help.
Being a very competent tradesman who takes pride in all he does, Michael sets a high standard that he expects others to follow. NZ Marine’s Field Officer site visits are like clockwork. He reviews and reads each assessment for the many apprentices Tristram Marine has to ensure they understand and have met the competency standards required, for the business and industry.
One attribute he has that all great leaders have is knowing his team, what makes them tick and knowing how to realise the potential in each and every one of them.
The entire Team at Tristram Marine congratulate Michael for his achievements and his dedication to creating a positive and motivational work environment.
We congratulate Kieran Lawson & Melvin Diga for graduating from their respective Apprenticeships last night also. What a team!!!
