‘Roberty Bob’s owners were very excited to receive their brand new Tristram recently – just in time for salmon and trout fishing on Lake Hawea. Having previously owned a Tristram Hardtop in Auckland, they naturally gravitated to the Tristram brand again to enjoy unsurpassed workmanship and aftersales service, but this time, opted for the ‘open-air’ feeling of a Tristram Targa Top.
Roberty Bob’s home base is Lake Hawea, the most northern glacial lake in Otago. It is 35km long, covers 124 square kms, lies at an altitude of 320 metres above sea level and is nearly 400 metres at its deepest point – offering rich and varied experiences for crew members. Many anglers regard Lake Hawea as the best freshwater sportfishery in the South Island, with its abundance of both trout and salmon – the perfect recipe for incredible trolling and spinning adventures aboard this Tristram 701 Vanquish.
Crew aboard Roberty Bob will be kept dry and warm during Lake Hawea’s winter months with the added benefit of an Enclosed Wheelhouse Cover System and Interior Heater.
A discrete heat controller is positioned on Roberty Bob’s port-side dash, enabling the option to dial up or dial down the interior temperature. Strategically positioned outlets ensure generated heat rises and fills the Wheelhouse space with warm air.
The Wheelhouse’s central roll-up panel will enable passengers to lock warmth inside or create an indoor-outdoor flow for easy access to and from the cockpit and helm station.
