Meet Mike, Production Manager

Mike’s been part of the Tristram team for over 20 years. He started with us in 2003 as an apprentice, learning the craft from the ground up. Since then, he’s worked through NZ Marine’s training programmes, earned multiple qualifications, and grown into a key leader in our business.

As Production Manager, Mike oversees the full boat-building process and ensures every vessel that leaves our site meets Tristram’s high standards. He also plays a big role in mentoring our team—especially the next wave of apprentices—sharing his experience and supporting them both at work and after hours.

A few years ago, Mike received the first NZ Marine Dale Carnegie Scholarship, recognising his leadership and giving him the chance to complete professional development training he’s brought back into the business.

Mike is dedicated to quality and takes pride in helping every team member do their best work and keep growing. He also works closely with new owners during the handover process, making sure they feel confident and ready to hit the water.

Mike’s wife, Melina Langley, is another vital part of the Tristram crew. As our Boat Parts Manager, she looks after owners needing parts, upgrades, or custom additions. Together, Mike and Melina set a strong example of teamwork and commitment—on and off the water. They’re proud owners of a Tristram 640 Cabriolet and know the experience from both sides.

Mike’s journey has been built on hard work, learning, and a true passion for boats. He’s had a major impact on Tristram Marine’s story—and he’s helping shape our brands future every day.
