COVID-19 UPDATE
LEVEL 2 – Thursday 14th May 2020
Tristram Marine’s Showroom & Service Centre is open for visitors during Alert Level 2 from 8:30am Thursday 14th May.
As a team we will continue to do everything we can to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in our workplace. We all have a part to play in keeping each other safe. We ask that all visitors during Level 2 help us to make this possible. Here are our overarching principles:
1. COVID-19 is still out there. Tristram Marine are therefore playing it safe, but are open for business.
2. Our team have been advised not to shake hands, please have fun trying different ways of greeting – we’ll join in to make it less awkward!
3. Groups of customers must remain at least 1 metre apart.
4. We ask everyone – team members, contractors and customers, with cold or flu-like symptoms to stay away from our premises please.
5. Contact-tracing records will be gathered for all visitors. Please report to Reception so we can gather your contact details using our digital and contactless ‘SwipedOn’ software.
We look forward to opening back up for business, not as usual… but as close as possible for you!!
LEVEL 3 – Tuesday 28th April 2020
The Tristram Team thank everyone for their patience as we navigate New Zealand’s various Covid-19 Alert Levels. We are currently at Alert Level 3. In accordance with Health Act (COVID-19 Alert Level 3) Order 2020, below is a summary of how Tristram Marine will be operating under Alert Level 3:
SHOWROOM – Our Showroom remains closed. Only supermarkets, dairies and petrol stations are permitted to open their retail storefronts to the public. New boat enquiries are welcomed via +64-7-849-5225 or [email protected]. FaceTime or Zoom calls can be arranged if you’d like to see our boats on display.
SERVICE CENTRE – Our Service Centre is open. This allows you to have your boat package serviced to ensure engine, boat & trailer warranty conditions are met. We ask that you please don’t enter our buildings during Alert Level 3. Only Tristram Team members are permitted inside. Contactless drop offs and pick ups are available. We are able to supply you with a letter to present to law enforcement officers should they question your reasons for towing a boat. For more information please call our Service Team on +64-7-849-5225 or email [email protected].
PRODUCTION PLANT – Our Production Team are working once again, but currently under the guidance of our strict Safe Practice Protocols. This allows production of new boats to resume.
If you have any queries about how your interactions with Tristram Marine will be affected under alert level 3 please call +64-7-849-5225 or email [email protected]
LEVEL 4 – Monday 23rd March 2020
All Team Members at Tristram Marine moved to self-isolation only hours after the Government announced progressing to Level 3 and 4 alert states. Our leadership team have emails / phones at hand. Please contact us should you have any queries.
As we head into unchartered waters and the scary ‘unknown’, it is more important than ever to do our part to stop the spread of this virus, stay safe, remain positive and be kind to one another.
While boating and fishing may be considered essential to some of us, we are not an essential service and as such our Showroom, Production Plant and Service Centre will be closed while NZ is in lock down.
Our production schedule will be pushed out four weeks and the delivery of our incredible new ‘Tristram X’ will be delayed. Despite this, we remain as committed as ever to provide quality memories aboard quality Tristram boats, but will first and foremost prioritise the health of our team. Them being home with their families to isolate is far more important than anything else at this point.
There’s no doubt as a business we will get through this. We credit this to our dedicated and talented leadership team and to our loyal clients that continue to support and encourage us to continuously deliver unparalleled boats and service. Our boats will be there to create many more quality memories on the water when we emerge from isolation.
In the meantime we encourage you to follow updates on the government’s Covid-19 website and also Coastguards advice regarding boating during the lock down period.
Peter Busfield, Executive Director of the New Zealand Marine Industry Association recently shared some encouraging words with International Boat Industry News writer, Barry Thompson. “NZ will not be the same as the rest of the world. We will be the envy of most, as we will likely be the first country to be able to focus on starting to plan for our new future – the plan that will bring us prosperity once again”.
